2007 Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant of The Americas Contest
Rules and Regulations
A. Introduction
- Phoenix Satellite Television (U.S.) Inc. proudly presents the 3rd annual 2007 Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant of the Americas contest. This event will be the only Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant to be held specifically for Chinese women in North America, Central America and South America , and is a part of the global Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant event presented by Phoenix Satellite Holdings Limited.
- As the new century emerges, the young Chinese woman is not only revered for her beauty, but for her compassion, vigor, fortitude, and intelligence. An epitome of perfection, the young Chinese woman not only embraces these ideals, but demonstrates her virtue with the utmost of composure and presentation. We invite and encourage all young Chinese women who feel that they are the ideal candidates to submit an application for review.
- As a well-known global leader of Chinese media –Phoenix Satellite Television has accepted the task of presenting to the Chinese people a truly “Beautiful Messenger.” In living up to its reputation of a company that delivers the highest level of quality and service, Phoenix Satellite Television, in cooperation with various national and local beauty contest organizations, has organized a truly remarkable event. From regional to international recognition, Phoenix Satellite Television will act with the greatest care in selecting the winner. The winning candidate will proudly represent the ideal view of the “Modern Young Chinese Woman,” and will embrace the true essence of the “Exquisite Mind” by using her influence and prestige to engage in various charitable activities.
- Phoenix Satellite Television (U.S.) Inc. is authorized to delegate the entire operation of the Americas contest, including all contest-related television programs, program retransmission and visual broadcasts. All applicants agree to the conditions of the contest described below, and agree to abide by the following terms and conditions, including those that may be set or amended at a future date and/ or time by Phoenix Satellite Television (U.S.) Inc.
B. Eligibility Requirements
To be able to participate in the 2007 Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant of The Americas competition, the participant must meet the following requirements:
- The Americas ' Applicant must have been born female, at least 18 years of age and has not attained 28 years of age by September 30, 2007 (Calendar Date);
- The Americas' Applicant is a North, Central or South American citizen, and is a permanent resident either of the United States, Canada or South America, or holding a legal non-immigrant valid visa that must be able to travel internationally without requiring additional visa or permission from her respective government;
- If the Americas ' Applicant is under 18 years of age, she must provide her parent(s) or legal guardian's consent documents and signature;
- The Americas ' Applicant must have never been married, never have been pregnant, in good health condition, and must possess good moral character;
- Minimum height requirement is 5.3 feet (162 cm) and above;
- The Americas ' Applicant must show integrity, intelligence, and must possess strong communication abilities;
- The Americas' Applicant can not possess any tattoos on any part of her body and must not have any nude photograph's or images of themselves published in any shape or form via media including (without limitation) film, tape, still photography, or the Internet;
- The Americas ' Applicant can not be currently signed to or in the process of signing a contract with a management firm, manufacturing company, or media company;
- The Americas ' Applicant must have graduated from high school or will graduate by September 30, 2007 ;
- The Americas ' Applicant can not be an employee or relative of Phoenix Satellite Television (U.S.) Inc., or Phoenix Satellite Holdings Limited, or any of the pageant's sponsors.
C. Participate Date
The application process will begin May 1, 2007 and must be received no later than June 30, 2007 . Phoenix Satellite Television (U.S.) Inc. will not be responsible for lost or stolen mail.
D. Application Procedures
- The Americas ' Applicant must complete and sign the “ The Americas Region Application Form;”
- Submit the completed “ The Americas' Region Application Form,” with the following documents:
• A copy of your legal documents, such as Visa, Passport, Birth Certificate, or Green Card;
• 5 Color photographs:
1) 2 inches by 2 inches front headshot;
2) 7 inches by 7 inches full-length shot;
3) 7 inches by 7 inches full- frontal view in swimsuit;
4) 7 inches by 7 inches full- side view in swimsuit;
5) 7 inches by 7 inches back- profile in swimsuit;
- If the applicant is under 18 years of age, her parent(s) or legal guardian must sign the application form and include a copy of their legal identification;
- Send or submit the completed form to Phoenix Satellite North America's website, at www.phoenixtv-us.com;
- The Americas ' Applicant must be able to provide the actual legal documentation proof upon request.
E. Interview
- Phoenix Satellite Television (U.S.) Inc. will carefully consider all applications once received. The selected applicant will be notified by mail, email, or phone. All selected applicants will be notified no later than July13, 2007;
- If selected for the interview process, the applicant will be notified of the assigned location and time for the interview via letter; (Parent and/or guardian must accompany the applicant if the applicant is under 18 years of age at the time of the interview)
- Phoenix Satellite Television (U.S.) Inc. will select the contestants for the contest after the interview process. Not all applicants selected for an interview will participate in the contest;
- The Americas ' Applicant accepts all the expenses stated above;
- If selected, the Americas contestant will receive complimentary professional make-up services. (Expenses will be paid by Phoenix Satellite Television (U.S.) Inc.)
F. The Contest
Prior to participating in the actual contest event, all selected contestants will be asked to sign additional entry form with Phoenix Satellite Television (U.S.) Inc.
G. Acknowledgement
The Americas ' Applicant hereby acknowledges and agrees that Phoenix Satellite Television (U.S.) Inc. may at its absolute discretion:
- Request Americas ' Applicant to show proof of North, Central or South America residency;
- Withdraw the Americas ' Applicant and contestant from the interview and contest without providing any reasons;
- Change or cancel the interview or contest's date, location or rules and regulations;
- In consideration of permitting Applicant to participate in this event, the Applicant hereby grants Phoenix Satellite Television (U.S.) Inc. and any affiliates, approved video or entertainment organizations, and all of their respective agents, successors, licensees and/or assignees, the right to photograph or otherwise reproduce (whether by film, tape, still photography or otherwise) the Applicant's voice, appearance and/or name, and to exhibit, distribute, transmit, and/or exploit any and all such reproductions containing the Applicant's voice and/or appearance in any and all media, including without limitation, by means of still photography, motion pictures, video, printing, the Internet, or any other media now known or hereafter created, including also with respect to merchandising, advertising and/or publicity, the right to use the Applicant's name and information in connection with the following: The rights granted henceforth are universal and shall endure perpetually, and no compensation shall be payable to the Applicant at any time in connection therewith. Nothing contained herein shall be deemed to obligate Phoenix Satellite Television (U.S.) Inc. or their affiliates or approved video or entertainment organizations, to photograph or otherwise reproduce the Applicant's voice, appearance or name, or to make use of any of the rights granted herein. These rights may be assigned by Phoenix Satellite Television (U.S) Inc. at their sole and complete discretion.
H. Language
The Americas ' Application Form is written in both English and Chinese and the Americas ' Applicant understands that the English translation is for reference purposes only. Please complete all fields in capital letters.
